Hideous Beauty – Brazilian Spider
This hideous beauty, a Brazilian spider was clicked at a factory in Sao Paolo.
Nature can be terrifying, yet breathtakingly beautiful. As an entomophobe, the sight of this spider in its gargantuan web had my heart rate escalating and my fingers trembling. Yet, I could not help but admire this magnificent beast. Thanks to a supremely thick Plexiglas window, I was able to steady myself and zoom in for a few admirable clicks.
I’m unfamiliar with entomology and cannot identify the species. Any help would be appreciated.

For the culture connoisseur, this lovely piece of history can be purchased online – if they are willing to part with a handsome sum of money that is.

Rio De Janerio is not just sun, sand and beaches. Many favelas (slums) big and small dot the city scape. They may not always be the number one destination for tourists, but a large portion of Brazilian history and culture is tucked away in these favelas. Rocinha here is the largest favela in Brazil. If you ever visit Rio, do take a tour of Rocinha, you won’t regret it.
